Sally Romano signing her Share Your Life Stories book

Hi, I’m Sall

Thanks for stopping by so I can introduce myself a little better.

As you’ve probably guessed by now…

I love helping genealogists like you to organise your family history with a range of innovative productivity tools.

So you can streamline your research practices and enjoy better results in less time.

And experience the joy of organised genealogy.

It  was a big journey to get to this point

SEE FOR YOURSELF…

G

2011

Starting in 2002, I built one of Australia’s most success boutique PR agencies.
We serviced clients along the east-coast of Australia & even did PR for George Clooney!

The pr report - the monthly newsletter for the australian pr industry.

I left the PR world behind when our family moved to the developing nation of Papua New Guinea for my husband’s work.

G

2015

In PNG I had no opportunity to work – so I started doing genealogy.
And I loved it!  I quickly realised that genealogy was a lot like PR…
success was based on the quality of your research and the ability to find, collate and share that information.

Without a PR agency to manage, I was lucky enough to find genealogy

G

2016

And that’s when it went wrong!
My genealogy research was a HOT MESS!
I was soooo frustrated because I had been uber organised and had easily administered my multi-office PR agency.
Voila! A lightbulb moment – migrate my business systems into my genealogy.

My productivity skyrocketed once I introduced my business systems into my genealogy

G

2017

So while I was transitioning my PR systems into my genealogy, I set about learning other best-practice methodologies.
And by 2017, I’d completed my Certificate in Genealogical Research.

2019

Having moved back to Australia and been made President of the Genealogical Society of Queensland, ABC Radio offered me a regular radio spot so I could help listeners with their genealogy.
And during this time ‘on-air,’ I learned that people needed processes and systems to guide them.

I loved being on radio and helping listeners with their genealogy

G

2020

Meanwhile, I had decided to become a qualified genealogist.
As part of that journey, I had to write a 20,000-word thesis.
It was intense, but a blessing – because writing a professional manuscript demanded that I perfect my organising systems.
And now… my book “Days of Yore: O’Brien Family of Cowwarr”  is in nine libraries across three continents!

Then my mother died suddenly in 2020.
I lamented because I hadn’t asked her enough about her life.
I wished I’d had a book of prompts to help me with the process.
So losing dear Mum became the inspiration behind the “Share Your Life Story” journals which are available worldwide on Amazon.

A set of three books with the words'mom' and'mom's day'.

The ‘Share Your Life Story‘ books were a labour of love to help other genies

G

2022

I wanted to hone my skills from real genealogy professionals and I figured working on a genealogy tv show would be ideal.
After volunteering on several episodes and proving my know-how…
I was hired by “Who Do You Think You Are?”

I now felt confident I had the necessary skills and experience to start sharing ‘the joy of organised genealogy.’
So I tested the waters and launched a
free research planner that was downloaded 5,000+ times!
(And I still receive wonderful feedback to this day).

Sally Romano supports you during the whole process and you benefit so much i never looking back.

2024

Members from my 16,000+ Organise Your Genealogy Facebook group asked me to create (the world’s first?) genealogy organising club.
So I launched Genie Organisers Inner Circle so people could work together, get their genealogy organised, and enjoy the process.
And I wanted it to be affordable, so it’s only $7/month!
